Rare 19th Century Antique Pewter & Wood Enema Syringe, Clyster enema, antique Medical Curiosity A fascinating piece of medical history, this authentic 19th-century clyster (enema) syringe is a classic example of early "at-home" medical care. The piece features a heavy-gauge pewter barrel with decorative ribbing and its original turned wooden plunger. The long, elegantly curved nozzle is characteristic of syringes designed for self-administration. This item is a wonderful display piece for collectors of medical history, "cabinet of curiosities" enthusiasts, or those interested in quirky Victorian artifacts. Era: Circa 1830–1850. Materials: Solid pewter, carved wood handle, original seal. Condition: Excellent antique condition with a beautiful natural patina. The plunger moves freely and the threaded cap unscrews easily.
